On a very large scale, emotional trauma is affecting the population at large. Recognize your automatic responses. Are you anxious, irritable, withdrawn, binge eating, not eating at all?
Though we are keeping our distance, we can still video chart, or talk on the phone. Have human contact. Share your feelings.
Go for a daily walk.
Meditate even if just for five or ten minutes. Sit in silence or use guided meditations just be sure to quiet your mind.
Your body needs healthy nutrients to function properly. Avoid sugar.
Take up a hobby so that you feel productive/creative as long as it is something you enjoy.
Do not be afraid to reach out for help. It is okay to ask for help to deal with trauma whether it is a one time event or an ongoing stressful pandemic.
