We continue our look at healthy eating from January 10.
Avoid processed foods. They are filled with sugar and salt, neither of which in excess are health friendly.
Drink lots of water. Many of us mistake our body’s signal for dehydrated as a signal for hunger.
Just because it is a birthday celebration or Valentine’s Day for example does mean you quit your new healthy way of life. Enjoy a celebration but use common sense. Have a piece of cake, have some chocolate but remember moderation. Having a piece of cake today doesn’t mean that you do not continue your healthy way of life tomorrow. Stay on course but treat yourself.
Pay attention to how food choices make you feel. You may discover that the large piece of cake or pound of chocolate left you without energy. You may even of needed a nap. When we pay attention to our body and its reaction to foods, it becomes much easier to make healthy choices. Remind yourself how you felt after you indulged before having a second helping.
