Set aside time to make plans and solve issues during the day so that you can leave them behind when you go to bed.
Meditate, read or listen to soothing music before bed. Avoid action packed television.
Ensure that your bedroom is dark and that the temperature is comfortable. You don’t want to be woke up because you are too hot or cold in the middle of the night.
Finally, do not go to bed worrying that you will have an issue falling sleep. The worry itself will make this a self-fulfilling prophecy.
