On September 8, we touched on exercise to help with controlling our mind.
Another tool to assist is breathing exercises which is actually a form of meditation.
Relax your body, drop your shoulders, tuck you chin, relax your tongue and support it on the back of your upper teeth, close your eyes. Breath in deeply to the count of five. Feel the cool air brushing gently against your nostrils as it enters your body and brings in fresh, new air. Hold your breath for five seconds and then release your breath for a count of five; feeling the warm air exit your body carrying the anxiety away with it.
Picture your breathing cleanings your body and your mind. In with the new and out with the old Continue as long as necessary and repeat when necessary.
It will feel awkward in the beginning but as with all things, the more you practice, the easier it becomes.
